Can we do it green? Sure Can!

In a global sense we are increasingly becoming aware of our environmental responsibility. As the desire to be green and make sustainable choices develops ever increasing momentum and importance, we @ JDV Group are committed to ensuring that the decisions we make today do not compromise or have an adverse impact on tomorrow's environment.

We embrace sustainability and good environmental choice at every stage of a project cycle including our head office operation.

We have the qualifications and expertise to advise on sustainable choices and concepts and guide our clients through the GBCA - Green Star Project registration and certification process.

Whether striving for Green Star project certification or simply wanting to make a conscious effort to embrace the principles of sustainability by making sound environmental choices and ensuring that the fitout and construction process in itself is environmentally responsible, we can assist.

At a pre-planning stage and project execution stage, JDV can advise and contribute, allowing our clients to make practical and informed environmental choices and decisions.

As a minimum we;
  • Operate under a documented Environmental Management System compliant to AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004, from which a project specific plan is developed.
  • Use only Low VOC (volatile Organic Compounds) paints and sealants, & water based enamels as standard practice, our painters don't wash brushes or rollers in sinks.
  • Ensure all timber products are FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified as obtained for renewable sources.
  • Use E-Zero joinery substrate board (zero formaldehyde is used in the glue/bonding agent used to make the board) in all joinery.
  • Set an 80% recycling target for all construction waste, including pre-sorting waste onsite for recycling and diversion from landfill wherever possible.
  • Use new materials with a recycled content including steel, plasterboard, glass and aluminium.
  • Partner with suppliers who's products are either GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia) certified or who are able to demonstrate their environmental credentials and compliance.
